Beyond the Cedars

Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau Alaska

While talking the walk to see the glacier every view was a beautiful moment, and I had a hard time not to stop every few feet. I had never seen this type of terrain before, trees, snow, water it was all so different from the Midwest area that I am so familiar with. The day was a bright and sunny day, we saw many eagles too.

Traveling with family I could not haul my paints with us for the day.  But as soon as we returned to the cruise ship, I took out my travel sketchbook and watercolors and captured from my experience from memory.
